EVERETT — A brush fire that spread to the former Edmonds Family Fun Center led to a massive response Saturday evening.

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a passerby’s report of a brush fire at 7212 220th St. SW, according to a South County Fire social media post. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire had spread to the building.

Crews from the Everett Fire Department and the Shoreline Fire Department also responded, resulting in nearly 60 firefighters on scene, the post said.

The fire took nearly two hours to extinguish, according to South County Fire spokesperson Christie Veley. Preliminary estimates place property damages caused by the fire at $25,000 and content damages at $5,000.

The Family Fun Center shut its doors in 2020. Since then, South County Fire has responded to at least five fires at the location, the post said.
