LAKE STEVENS — Firefighters responded to reports of explosions and fire at a duplex in the 2400 block of 99th Ave. NE in Lake Stevens at 12:40 p.m. Monday.
Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue had the fire under control within 20 minutes, according to a press release. No one was in the building, and no civilians or firefighters were injured.
The fire was centered around the attached garage of one of the duplex units. Flames reached the attic and eaves of the roof. A power line above the building caught fire and fell to the ground.
One person and their dog lived in the unit closest to the fire. Two adults and a child lived in the other unit.
Shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, a post from Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue on X warned of a large response and asked people to avoid the area.
