KELSO — Kelso police say high school students have been playing an intense nighttime tag game called Fugitive and alarming residents.

The Daily News of Longview reports the Fugitive Facebook page describes it as “cops and robbers on steroids.” The “fugitives” are pursued by “chasers” on foot and in cars until they are tagged, usually with a flashlight beam.

Police says 150 people showed up Friday night at Mark Morris High School and throughout the evening dozens on foot and in cars made their way to Kelso High.

Dispatchers took numerous 911 calls from people who thought they were vandals or car prowlers. Police cited several players for disorderly conduct or unsafe driving.
