LYNNWOOD — A Lynnwood teenager killed Friday while crossing Highway 99 has been identified.
Deandre Whitaker, 14, was hit by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup when he tried to run across the highway around 7 p.m. near the intersection with 200th Street SW, according to Lynnwood police.
Witnesses reported to police that the truck had a green light.
Officers shut down the road and continued to investigate into the night.
The three people in the pickup — the man who was driving, his spouse and a child — were uninjured.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
