One person dead after fall of more than 200 feet on Thursday in Index

EVERETT — One man died from a fall of more than 200 feet on Thursday afternoon in Index.

Around 4 p.m. Thursday, Sky Valley Fire responded to the fall of a man in his 20s at the Index Town Wall off 49233 Reiter Road, Assistant Chief Ernie Walters said. The victim was climbing with a partner when he failed to hook into an anchor and fell 200 to 250 feet.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
