EVERETT — One man died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Everett.
At 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to the crash in the 10900 Block of 4th Avenue W in unincorporated Everett.
Deputies observed the vehicle traveling northbound on 4th Avenue W from 128th Street SW at a high rate of speed and began pursuing the suspect, a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office press release said.
The driver, 19, ran several red lights and almost collided with another car at an intersection of 4th Avenue W and 112th Street SW before losing control of the vehicle while avoiding cross traffic, the release said. The vehicle struck a parked car, a concrete wall and then a house before coming to a stop.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle on impact, the release said. First responders transported the suspect to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he later died from undisclosed injuries.
Detectives are working to determine the cause of the crash. Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor, the release said.
Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine positive identification of the deceased and manner of death.
