SEATTLE — Seattle police say a Metro bus driver was stabbed multiple times Sunday night in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. A man has been arrested in connection with the attack. The Seattle Fire Department says the bus driver is in the hospital in serious condition.
A Metro supervisor told the KCPQ-TV the 54-year-old driver had tried to avoid a confrontation with a passenger, but was followed into a restroom and stabbed five times.
A spokesman for the King County sheriff’s office said the 911 call came in at 10:17 p.m. with a report that a driver had been stabbed in the abdomen and chest.
Seattle Police Department spokesman Mark Jamieson says officers arrested a man nearby after witnesses identified him.
