YAKIMA — Authorities say a 72-year-old Richland man on a mountain bike ride has died after falling 200 feet from a cliff along the Tieton River about 35 miles west of Yakima.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported that Yakima County Chief Deputy Coroner Marshall Slight said Stanley Nuxall Sr. died Thursday.
Slight says Nuxall and two other men from the Richland area were scouting on mountain bikes on a dirt road in preparation for hunting season. They were not far from U.S. 12.
The deputy coroner says the other men didn’t see Nuxall fall but found his bike at the edge of the cliff.
