50 years ago

The Jordan Home hosted an open house honoring Cecile Tracy Spry on her 25th anniversary as administrator at General Hospital. She was known for her love of nursing and her philosophy that never allowed an impersonal attitude about her position.

Hutchings Motors at Pacific and Rucker avenues invited the public to see the new 1956 Fords. The new models had Thunderbird styling with an optional 202 horsepower V-8 engine. A new Sunliner was to be given away.

25 years ago

Straub, Bovey &Associates invited the public to the Gallery of Homes Art Show, featuring local artist Jerry Newport. It was in Everett’s new Gallery of Homes Office in the B&M Shopping Center .

This year’s theme for the annual Railroad-Reunion Day grand parade in Granite Falls was “The Year of the Family.” Entrants were to contact Arlene Stilley. The contact person for the junior parade was Gale Hogan.
