STANWOOD — Divers on Saturday recovered the body of a man who was ejected from a boat on Lake Goodwin the night before.

The circumstances surrounding the 52-year-old man’s death remain under investigation, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The boat operator, a 56-year-old Stanwood man, was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. He faces a potential homicide by watercraft charge, Ireton said.

The victim reportedly was thrown from the boat just before midnight. Search operations were suspended around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Divers resumed their search and the sheriff’s office reported Saturday evening that the victim’s body had been located.

The boat launch at Wenberg Park has been reopened.

No additional details were available.
