EVERETT — A man died this week at a hospital following an altercation at an Everett bar, police say.
Everett police responded to a disturbance at the Clubhouse Bar and Grill around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 30, officer Aaron Snell said. Several people, possibly more than 20, were said to be fighting, he said. One man suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
It’s unclear who started the fight, or if anyone will be arrested. Police are still investigating the incident, Snell said.
An online fundraiser identified the man as Dillian Murphy, who had a wife and two young children.
“He celebrated a birthday … and in what can only be described as being in the wrong place at the wrong time an unexpected tragedy occurred, landing Dillian in the hospital,” the fundraiser’s statement said.
According to the website, Murphy underwent two brain surgeries and was in the ICU for three weeks before he died.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of his death.
