MARYSVILLE – Nobody was seriously injured when a fire destroyed an apartment early Saturday.
The fire started on the top floor of a two-story apartment building in the 1200 block of Cedar Avenue about 3:45 a.m., said Capt. Dean Shelton of the Marysville Fire District.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire before it could spread to the other three apartments in the building.
The 65-year-old woman who lived in the apartment got out safely before firefighters arrived. She was taken to Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby campus to be treated for smoke inhalation, Shelton said.
About 20 firefighters in five fire engines, two aid units and a medic unit responded to the fire.
