My overwhelming feeling when watching the recent presidential debate was disbelief that Donald Trump is what Americans have chosen to counter the activist government policies of Democrats.
It’s easy to argue that government regulations can negatively influence the economy, that the bipartisan handouts during covid were responsible for an inflation spike later, or that there is little the federal government can do about housing and food prices. The left always does best when they counter the abuses of capitalism with assistance to those at the bottom, regulations that are scientifically justified for protecting the environment and worker safety and when they advocate for the rights and freedoms of minorities.
But Trump is such an obvious joke who seems to not have the slightest grip on reality that one must wonder what the hell is wrong with the sanity of Americans in general.
It’s all emotion and that’s what makes humans tick. We believe we just know what we have no clue about. Our very identity is frequently controlled by insane notions. Rationality is a delusion and we all know people believe whatever feels good. The faster Americans wake up to this reality the better. Because this level of ignorance and democracy are not compatible.
