Any means, except closing the library

I am writing on behalf of our family. We are residents of Index, but we are loyal and habitual Sultan Library users. I attended the July 12 Sultan City Council meeting and it appears that the city has gone quite a bit over budget and now has to deal with the repercussions. It is extremely unfortunate that it has come to this. I understand that changes must happen to get the budget on track to be balanced as soon as possible.

I feel the closing of the library would be an extremely poor choice, and lead to much bigger problems. Libraries provide endless benefits for a community. They encourage life learning for the young and old and all ages in between. Libraries also provide access to computers, which, as stated at a Sultan council meeting, allow public school students to complete assigned homework. We attend the Sultan Library story times with our children, musical events, summer reading program and the biannual used book sales and wecheck out books frequently.

The benefits of the Sultan Library are endless. Please join our family in encouraging the Sultan City Council to find other means to balance the budget without closing the Sultan Library.
