I was at the rally and protest in Everett last on Feb. 5 (“More than 100people gather in Everett to protest recent Trump actions,” The Herald, Feb. 5).
The Herald’s coverage was less than ideal or accurate. Where do I start? The above-the-fold photo of a young person in a rainbow garment was the only one there dressed as such. The photo is misrepresenting the overall complexion of the crowd.
The front page position of that picture seems sensationalist or pandering to me. The photo on the back page would have been much more appropriate to accurately depict the group. Also, the crowd count was closer to 200 than the 100 as stated in the paper. The real story is why was the crowd 100 percent white folks? Just because The Herald is a small=town newspaper doesn’t mean it has to’ oh, wait, I forgot that The Herald is now owned by a media group 2,000 miles away and has become a mere cut-and-paste publication of other newspapers. Time to read Orwell again.
