Hold police to higher standard

Thank you to the letter writer for stating the obvious , “Retaining officer fails the citizens.” After the Troy Meade debacle, you would think municipalities would like to distance themselves from idiots. To put a this individual in charge of a firearm and trust his judgement to insure the safety of our community is criminal. Yes, our civic leaders need to do more to protect us. Troy Meade is a murderer who is free because he wore a uniform. Do we need to wait until this officer does something heinous before we take action? Protect us by removing this man from the police force.
