Saves on the clothing budget: Two new series on the Discovery Channel have added a voyeuristic twist to the typical “survival in the wild” series. “Naked and Afraid” and “Naked Castaway” both throw survivalists into the middle of nowhere without food, water, tools or clothing. A third new show on Discovery, “Tabloid,” will feature talk show host Jerry Springer rehashing tabloid stories.

We were hoping Springer was going to be dropped — without food, water, tools or clothing to see how long he could survive — in the middle of one of his old studio audiences.
