Safety trumps ‘privacy’ concern

In response to Sunday’s letter writer regarding the traffic cameras in Lynnwood (“Chasing away shoppers hurts”):

Whether or not you have thought it through, I do not know. However, none of us are guaranteed any semblance of privacy while driving or walking on the public streets. Those who have nothing to hide usually find the cameras unintrusive, as well as a deterrent to certain street crimes. If the camera catches just one criminal, be it traffic violation or car-jacking, I think it is well worth the inconvenience.
