Plastics are petrochemically based packaging materials that degrade, yielding micro fibers and microplastics into our food and water systems. State water testing says our drinking water is safe. But, they do not say it is good. Of course it isn’t.
Every grocer uses products packaged in plastic. With a rare exception, cans, and glass and paper are recyclable while most plastics are not and are sent to landfills, or in rural areas, burned in burn bins.
I have personally spoken with store managers and communicated with corporate headquarters and no one responds positively and in fact, ignore me.
The consumer product producers are poisoning our lives.
Walk into any grocer and see just how much plastic can be found. It is ubiquitous.
Consumers will shop for green vegetables and fruits but wrap them in single use bags, and still wash them when home but the plastics were not needed. Try shopping for glass contained products, or can contained products and see how far you can not go. Not a single chip, can be bought that is not bagged in petrochemical materials. Time you took action and stop buying these ecological time bombs. Dump the stuff from the beaches on grocer executive’s lawns.
They caused this problem. And, they pass the cost back to the consumer.
