Where has the civility in politics gone?

Idiot. Moron. Stupid. I hear these words all the time from far too many people when they hear if someone is voting for either Clinton or Trump. Supporters from both sides of the aisle are guilty of childish and petty attacks against people simply because they disagree with them on politics. What have we turned into? What happened to people being able to discuss politics in a civilized way and agreeing to disagree? The people on both sides who do not do this and get all mad at people and insult them for their political preferences is exactly what is wrong with America right now.

United we stand is a great thought, but it is something that I never see any more, so it doesn’t even seem like the truth at all. We are more divided than ever in this nation and that is so sad because that ruins any chance of progressing and coming together. It is great to have passion when discussing politics, but please remain civil and be kind to others even if we strongly disagree. I know our politicians haven’t set the best example for us on this subject, but it is time to set aside the petty bickering once and for all.
