AquaSox fall to Canadians

Everett musters just two hits as Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis makes a rehab appearance.

EVERETT — The Vancouver Canadians rallied for four runs over the final three innings to beat the Everett AquaSox 8-4 on Monday at Funko Field.

Glenn Santiago drove a run in the seventh and ninth innings and PK Morris hit a two-run home run in the eight for Vancouver (36-36). Addison Barger hit a two-run home run and Damiano Palmegiani and Garrett Spain added solo shots.

Noelvi Marte hit a two-run double and James Parker drew a bases-loaded walk for the AquaSox (36-39).

Kyle Lewis hit a sac fly and went 0 for 2. Lewis, the 2020 American League Rookie of the Year, joined Everett on Monday after making the first appearance of his rehab assignment with the Class AAA Tacoma Rainiers on Sunday. Lewis played four games with the Mariners before a concussion put him back on the IL on May 29.

Vancouver starter Nick Frasso struck out 10, walked one and didn’t allow a hit over four scoreless innings. Juan Nunez (2-0) fanned four over 2.1 scoreless innings and Jol Concepcion also struck out four over two scoreless frames to earn his third save.

Everett’s Bryce Miller allowed four runs on five hits, including three home runs, over six innings, striking out eight. Matthew Willrodt (0-1) took the loss after allowing a run in seventh.
