SPOKANE — Dariel Gomez lined out with the tying run on second base in the ninth inning as a late Everett AquaSox rally fell just short in a 6-5 loss to the Spokane Indians on Thursday night.

Alberto Rodriguez hit a two-out, RBI double in the ninth to pull the AquaSox to within one, but Gomez lined out to left fielder Robby Martin Jr. to end the game.

Mike Salvatore homered twice and drove in three runs, and Rodriguez and Noelvi Marte each had two hits for the AquaSox.

Bryce Miller started on the mound for Everett (31-34) and allowed four runs on three hits in four innings. Miller walked three and struck out six.

Colin Simpson drove in two runs and Drew Romo and Grant Lavigne each had two hits for Spokane (34-30).
