AquaSox slug past Hillsboro, win 4th straight

EVERETT — Alberto Rodriguez, Cole Barr and Charlie Welch hit home runs and the Everett AquaSox powered past the Hillsboro Hops 9-4 on Saturday at Funko Field.

Everett (15-21) won its fourth straight and slugged seven extra-base hits as a team.

Barr had three RBI and Rodriguez and Welch each drove in two runs.

AquaSox starter Adam Macko allowed one run over four innings on three hits and five walks, striking out six. Mike Mokma (1-1) earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

Tristin English hit a solo home run and Jose Cupra tripled for Hillsboro (18-18).

Hops starter Kenny Hernandez (0-1) allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out five.
