It feels like summer is just beginning, but the high school football isn’t all that far away. Practices begin Aug. 19 — seven weeks from today. (Practices for other fall sports start Aug. 24.)
So what are local prep football players up to now? They are attending camps, lifting weights and strengthening bonds with teammates and coaches. For example, the Granite Falls football team — guided by new head coach Tracey Bechtholdt — just finished up at the Central Washington University camp in Ellensburg.
Other area teams have been busy too. Here are some pretty in-depth looks at Jackson, Archbishop Murphy, Edmonds-Woodway, Lynnwood, Shorewood, Shorecrest and King’s. The stories appeared this week in the Enterprise Newspapers.
*Jackson looks for another title
*Archbishop Wildcats get a peek at newcomers
*Edmonds-Woodway Warriors looking for balance
*Lynnwood still in rebuilding mode
*Many unknowns for Shorewood football
*Three Shorecrest Scots vying for QB slot
*King’s aims to build off last year
