GIRLS BASKETBALL
Thursday (loser to consolation bracket)
No. 13 Glacier Peak 64, vs. No. 3 Chiawana 62 (OT)
TACOMA — The Grizzlies pulled off another stunner by advancing to a state semifinal with an overtime win over Chiawana on Thursday night.
Brynna Pukis (18 points, five assists) deflected a Riverhawks’ pass late in overtime and clinched victory with free throws.
Rikki Miller (18 points, six rebounds), Zoey Ritter (12 points, six rebounds, four assists) and Lillian Riechelson (12 points, five rebounds) also scored in double figures for GP, which will face No. 1 Davis in Friday’s 9 p.m. semifinal. Sammie Thoma pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies.
Glacier Peak struggled from the field against Chiawana, making just 17 of 54 shots. Pukis, who played all 36 minutes, went 8-for-8 from the free throw line, though, as the Grizzlies sank 18 of 20 overall.
It was a great day for Glacier Peak basketball, as the boys team also advanced to a semifinal.

TACOMA — The Spartans play Friday for a spot in the 4th/6th-place game.

YAKIMA — Archbishop Murphy (24-3) will play Friday for a spot in the 4th/6th place game. Individual Statistics were not available at press time.
No. 4 King’s 78, No. 3 Zillah 68
YAKIMA — Kaleo Anderson dominated Leopards with 25 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, three blocked shots and three steals as the Knights advanced to the semifinals. Cat Ellard added 20 points for King’s. Eleanor Gaydos (11 points) and Molly Kyler (10) also scored in double figures for the Knights, and Kaitlin Cramer added eight points and nine boards.
King’s made 11 of 20 shots from behind the 3-point arc, and outrebounded Zillah 39 to 29.
