The Thanksgiving weekend flooding in 1990 resulted in:

  • More than $100 million in total damages to public and private property.

  • 2,900 requests for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

  • One death, a 20-year railroad employee who was killed helping clear flood debris from the railroad near Arlington.

  • More than 4,000 acres of farmland were damaged.

  • An unknown number of cattle drowned in flood waters from north Snohomish County to as far south as Monroe and Duvall. Cattle from a farm near French Creek were swept away and the farmer offered $25 a head reward for those that were returned.

  • More than $12 million in damage was done by flooding in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, including picnic areas and trails.

  • At Harvey Airfield in Snohomish, more than 300 small planes were damaged.
