White Back

Tyrone Willingham reported in his daily press briefing Friday that senior linebacker Scott White was back with the team and “in good standing.”

White, one of Washington’s most experienced players, did not attend practice Thursday and Willingham said Thursday that he did not know why White was not there. White said earlier this week that he was unhappy at being second on the depth chart at outside linebacker behind Dan Howell and that he was considering quitting the team.

Willingham would not say why White was absent or if there were any stipulations upon his return. He also would not comment on where White now stood on the depth chart.

Linebackers coach Chris Tormey said White would not be required to perform any tasks – such as extra conditioning – in order to return to the team, saying only that he was happy to have White back.
