Lynnwood pair win in first try

LYNNWOOD — Theirs was a propitious pairing.

Lynn Maung and Peter Nguyen won in their first start as Lynnwood’s No. 1 doubles team Friday, taking a three-set victory 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

But Shorewood swept the singles and took the other two doubles matches to win the Wesco South meet 6-1.

Grace Academy 3, Cedar Park Christian-Everett 1: At Everett, Katie Mittelstaedt had 19 kills and seven service aces to help Grace Academy earn a 23-25, 25-13, 25-13, 25-19 victory over Cedar Park Christian-Everett (0-3 in league, 0-3 overall) in the Northwest 1B League match. Crystal Holmes added 17 kills for the Eagles (2-2, 2-3).
