MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Lake Stevens’ senior post players battered a young Mountlake Terrace team Wednesday night in a 66-33 non-conference victory.
Senior Brittney Tri scored 14 points and senior Kerry Gallagher pulled down 11 rebounds — including six on offense.
“This is a learning experience,” Mountlake Terrace head coach Deidra Ducheane said of her team, which has five freshman this year. “Anytime you lose it is. The kids can learn to stay composed, to rebound, to box out.”
“They killed us with their post play,” Ducheane said.
Katie Hinson led Mountlake Terrace with nine points.
Mary Ochiltree chipped in 19 points for Lake Stevens, 14 in the second half.
Lake Stevens outscored Montlake Terrace 34-14 in the second half.
“They’re a veteran team and they played a good game,” Ducheane said. “We hung in there for the first quarter but came out in the second half a little shell shocked.”
