EVERETT — All the Cascade girls basketball team needed was one quarter to warm up on Friday night.

Once it did, it never looked back, beating Everett 62-42 in a Wesco North game to earn its first victory of the season.

Everett scored four of the first five baskets to lead 13-10 at the end of the first quarter.

But after a couple Everett fouls resulted in Cascade going 4-for-4 on free throws early in the second quarter, the Bruins stole the lead from the Seagulls and held it for the rest of the game.

At halftime, Cascade led 26-19 and expanded its lead in the second half.

Cascade senior Ginalyn De Los Reyes, the game’s high scorer with 15 points, scored two of her four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter while teammates Maddie Molenda and Emily Joyce each added one in the half.

Everett was led by freshman Mollie Antiojo with 14 points and sophomore Ashley Hope added seven. Both also scored two 3-pointers.
