ARLINGTON — After a disappointing loss to Snohomish last week, the Arlington Eagles wrestling team was looking for a rebound.

They got it in the form of the Everett Seagulls.

Arlington opened the meet by getting two tough wins, then used six pins in eight matches midway through the contest in handing the Seagulls their first Wesco North loss of the season 46-15 Thursday night at Arlington High School.

Jessy Bosley (15-8 decision at 152-pounds) and Chris Myers (16-5, 160) led Arlington’s charge by opening up with back-to-back wins.

“Bosley and Myers wins came against two of their toughest opponents. (Their wins) set the bar for the night,” Arlington head coach Doug Byers said.

At 125, Chris Berg scored a pin in the third minute, pinning Everett’s Anthony Lucero in 3:12. Byers said Berg, “wrestled his best match of the season.”

Even Everett’s wins were tough to come by.

All five of Everett’s victories came by decision which made Arlington’s coach happy.

“I was really pleased with the way the guys wrestled,” Byers said.
