MUKILTEO — If Kamiak continues to wrestle this well, the Knights will be meeting Mariner in two weeks with the Wesco South championship on the line.

Kamiak took seven of the first eight bouts Wednesday night against visiting Edmonds-Woodway, en route to a 46-16 Wesco South victory.

“We’re not overlooking anyone,” Kamiak head coach Dan Hanika said. “E-W wrestled tough, really well… They do fine job on the mat, and they’ll be ready for the post-season.”

Kamiak’s Bryton Reim defeated Edmonds-Woodway’s Steven Alfi in the most exciting match of the night, winning the 140-pound match 10-9 in double overtime.

Anthony Jacobson won in a technical fall for the Knights in the 135-pound weight class in his first match of the season.

“The crowd played a huge role (tonight),” Hanika said.

E-W won four matches, including Merim Cutuk’s win by technical fall in 2:28 in the 285-pound match.
