FEDERAL WAY — Swimming against 28 schools from across the state, Snohomish and Kamiak earned third- and fourth-place overall finishes, respectively, at the Kentridge Invitational at the King County Aquatics Center.

Snohomish’s winning 200 yard medley relay team of Eric Pedack, Garren Riechel, Bryan Harvey and Logan Goodman earned a state qualifying time of 1:40.42. Riechel also finished first in the 100 yard breastroke with a state time of 56.94.

Kamiak diver Andrew Wells earned a win with a final score of 179.05, just over a point-and -a-half ahead of Marysville-Pilchuck’s Taylor Gibson.

Chris Erickson, Kamiak’s head coach, said that although Wells won Saturday, he has to wait until next week’s dive meet to qualify for state because “divers must qualify at 11-dive meets.”

Patrick Hunziker (100 back), Tyler Carriker (50 free), Daniel Schmidt (50 free) and Gus Brunner (100 breast) each swam state qualifying times for the Knights.
