SHORELINE — The Shorecrest wrestling team garnered its first victory of the season against Roosevelt Tuesday night, winning 37-36 on criteria.

Shorecrest coach Lee Thornhill said Aaron Salmon’s victory at 112 pounds was the key victory for the Scots.

Normally a 103-pounder, Salmon won 11-9 in overtime.

“He got off his back three times,” Thornhill said. “If he doesn’t win that match, we don’t win at all.”

Shorecrest also earned its second win Tuesday night, defeating Lakeside 60-18 in the nightcap of the three-team double dual.

The Scots won every weight class in the night cap with the exception of 152 pounds and 160 pounds.
