ARLINGTON – Arlington police are warning the public about a man who reportedly tried to persuade three 9-year-old children to go with him for dinner.

The children told investigators they were approached by the man about 3:50 p.m. Thursday in the 18700 block of Champions Drive near Pioneer Elementary School, Arlington Assistant City Administrator Kristin Banfield said.

The man is described as Hispanic, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a mustache and a scar between his eyes. He spoke to the children in English and Spanish, and was reportedly driving a newer, dark-blue minivan, Banfield said.

The Arlington School District sent formation about the incident home with students.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Arlington Police Department at 360-403-3400.
