No hearing today on UW campus

OLYMPIA – A hearing will not be conducted today on legislation for a University of Washington campus in Everett.

The leader of the state Senate Ways and Means Committee canceled the planned discussion.

Sen. Margarita Prentice, D-Renton, the committee chairwoman, has said she wants supporters of competing sites in Marysville and Lake Stevens to be able to make their arguments before the panel.

Legislation promoting sites in those two communities had not reached her committee as of Wednesday morning.

No new hearing date had been set as of this morning.
