TACOMA — The Pierce County sheriff’s department reports 25 dogs were removed from a home in Parkland after a man was injured by some of the dogs.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jerry Bates said a female caretaker at the home is being investigated for neglect and other violations.

Bates said the man has a medical condition that prevented him from defending himself against the dogs. He was taken to Tacoma General Hospital Friday. His condition wasn’t known.

The dogs were taken from the home Saturday by Pierce County Animal Control. Tacoma police took control of those animals. The caretaker took two other dogs from the home to the hospital.
