A regional environmental agency called a smog watch today for Snohomish, King and Pierce counties.
The watch is expected to last through Saturday. This week’s heat caused ozone-pollution to go up to dangerous levels this week, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency reported today.
Communities south and southeast of Everett will be affected the most in the area.
The agency issued the following warnings:
– Those with asthma, lung and cardiovascular disease should limit their time outdoors until the alert is called off.
– Healthy individuals should avoid exercising outdoors too.
– Meanwhile, the agency spokesperson said all people can help spare the air by carpooling and avoiding gas-fueled recreation.
