Great oncologist was also great man

It is with great sadness that we, as a community, have lost Dr. Paul Knoll.
When I was diagnosed with cancer, before meeting Dr. Knoll, I was in terror of what I was facing. During that first appointment with him, he talked at length about the treatment program he had arranged for me. Upon leaving his office that day, though my mind was on overload, I felt the terrors fade away and knew I’d be just fine. And I was.
Though I knew he was the best doctor, it wasn’t until I read about him in the two columns by Julie Muhlstein that I learned what a great man he was: kind, great family man, caring, superior intelligence and so accomplished. I feel honored for having known this man who was instrumental in killing the monster growing inside me.
