Granite Falls edges Lakewood, 3-2

GRANITE FALLS — Brennan Johnson had 25 digs to lead Granite Falls to a 25-23, 25-27, 24-26, 26-24, 15-4 Cascade Conference victory over Lakewood Tuesday.
Monesa Moore had 12 kills for Granite Falls (1-1 league and overall) and teammate Audrey Murphy had eight kills.
Lakewood fell to 0-2.
Archbishop Murphy 3, Coupeville 0: At Everett, Archbishop Murphy recorded 37 kills, 10 aces, 32 digs and 33 assists collectively as the Wildcats (2-0 league and overall) defeated the Wolves 25-12, 25-11, 25-22 in Cascade Conference action. Julie Huddleston had 12 assists, Kassie Lawson had 10 digs and Linde Maertens had nine digs and seven kills to lead Coupeville (0-2, 1-2).
King’s 3, Cedarcrest 0: At Duvall, Lindsey Smith had 20 assists and Shannon Bailey had 10 kills but undefeated King’s (2-0 league and overall) rolled 25-19, 25-15, 25-17 to the Cascade Conference victory over Cedarcrest (1-1, 2-1).
South Whidbey 3, Sultan 0: At Sultan, the Falcons (2-0 league and overall) swept the Turks (0-2, 0-2) 25-11, 25-13, 25-20 in Cascade Conference action.
Darrington 3, Mt. Vernon 0: At Darrington, Randi Wales had 11 aces, Hailey Wales had eight kills and Mandy Powell had 15 digs to help Darrington (2-1 overall) roll to a 25-9, 25-9 25-7 non-conference victory over Mt. Vernon Christian (0-3 overall).
Lummi 3, Highland Christian 1: At Arlington, Lummi defeated host Highland Christian 28-26, 24-26, 25-15, 25-16 to take a non-conference victory and drop Highland Christian to 2-3 overall. Lummi improved to 3-1.
North Sound Christian 3, Marysville-Pilchuck C Team 1: At Mountlake Terrace, Cori Speck had 10 aces and four kills for North Sound Christian in the 25-22, 12-25, 25-11, 25-18 non-league victory. Chantelle Meeks had 10 kills, three digs and five aces and teammate Victoria Patterson had five digs and eight kills for NSC (3-0 overall).

Meadowdale 7, Mountlake Terrace 0: At Lynnwood, Julia Fjortoft scored a hat trick in the non-league shutuout. Hannah Landerholm and Marcail McDonald also scored goals for Meadowdale (4-1-0 overall) and Abbie Gustafson was credited with the shutout. Mountlake Terrace fell to 0-5.
Shorewood 3, Shorecrest 0: At Shoreline, Xana Bartlett scored once and assisted on Dominique Amor’s goal to help Shorewood (4-0-1) roll to a non-league victory over Shorecrest (3-1-1). Sarah Clements scored Shorewood’s other goal. Madison Hollenbeck recorded the shutout. Carolyn Towles started in goal for Shorecrest.
Edmonds-Woodway 5, Lynnwood 1: At Edmonds, Carlin Huegli scored four goals for Edmonds-Woodway in the non-league victory. Kate Parker assisted one of Huegli’s goals while the rest were unassisted. Cheyenne Smith also scored an unassisted goal for Edmonds-Woodway. Amanda Overdick scored Lynnwood’s lone goal. Justine Ponton tended goal for Edmonds-Woodway (3-1-1 overall). Amelia Martin tended goal for Lynnwood (0-4-1).
Glacier Peak 8, Mariner 0: At Everett, Brooke Gilbert had a hat trick, Miranda Granger and Meaghan Slighter each had two goals and Stephanie Cumming added one as the Grizzlies (2-2-1 overall) routed the Marauders (0-4-1) in non-league action. Nicole Giovine recorded the shutout in goal for Glacier Peak.
Everett 3, Oak Harbor 2: At Everett, after Carson McKole put Oak Harbor on the board with a goal in the 21st minute, Kylie Beeson of Everett followed with the equalizer two minutes later off a Sele Vance assist. Everett took the lead when Hannah Hawkins scored off an Amelia Kent assist in the 47th minute but Carson McKole knotted it up at the 60th minute with her second unassisted goal. Madison Taylor of Everett secured the win, sending a Britney McMullen pass past Oak Harbor (0-5-0 league and overall) keeper Jordan Boucher in the 89th minute. Emily Nesting tended goal for Everett (3-0-1).
Jackson 3, Kamiak 2: At Everett, Cara Wegner scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 71st minute, to lead Jackson (4-0-1) to the non-league victory over Kamiak (1-3-1). Lauren Luke scored both of Kamiak’s goals. Tana Foster started in goal for Kamiak, Jackson’s keeper was not reported.
Arlington 3, Snohomish 2: At Snohomish, in a back-and-forth game, Arlington was able to pull out the win thanks to a goal in the 65th minute by Olivia Woodard, who also assisted on the first Arlington goal in the Wesco North game. Teresa Wadey and Kristina Longosky also scored for the Eagles (3-2 league and overall). Lauren Johnson and Annie Hund had goals for the Panthers (1-3). Chelsea Boulton was the goalkeeper for Arlington and made a few key saves in the final two minutes to help preserve the win, according to Arlington coach Nathan Davis. Melissa Dreves was in goal for Snohomish.
Stanwood 1, Cascade 0: At Stanwood, Heather Skeels scored off an assist from Kalina Eveland in the 70th minute as the Spartans (3-1 league and overall) defeated the Bruins (1-3-1) in Wesco North action. Haley Haugstad recorded the shutout in goal for Stanwood.
Granite Falls 3, Lakewood 2: At Granite Falls, Katie Cashman scored two goals and assisted on Cacia Stevens’ goal as the Tigers (2-1 league, 4-1 overall) defeated the Cougars in Cascade Conference action. Erin Dierickx and Alicia Stott scored for Lakewood (0-3, 1-4).

King’s 2, Cedarcrest 1: At Duvall, Rachael Kevin put Cedarcrest (2-1 league, 3-1-1 overall) up early with a goal in the 12th minute but King’s (3-0, 5-0) came roaring back with goals by Taylor Hauck and Christina McCormick (Kendall Thoreson assist) to earn the come-from-behind win in the Cascade Conference game. Goalkeepers Kori Butterfield (Cedarcrest) and Maddy McDevitt (King’s) each had 10 saves for their respective teams.
South Whidbey 5, Sultan 0: At Sultan, Karissa Thomas scored two goals, and Morgan Thomson, Megan Larmore and Jessica Manca each scored a goal to help South Whidbey (2-1 league, 3-2 overall) to a Cascade Conference victory over Sultan (0-3, 0-5). Natasha Kamps recorded the shutout for South Whidbey.

Mount Vernon Christian 7, Grace Academy 0: At Marysville, Derrick DeVries and David Riley each recorded hat tricks as the Hurricanes defeated the Eagles (1-4 overall) in the non-league game. Mark deVries scored the Hurricanes’ other goal.
Shoreline Christian 2, Lopez Island 0: At Shoreline, Davis Wahlman and Sean Lidstrom teamed up to record the shutout and Michael Sohn and Travis Hudson each scored a goal to hand Shoreline Christian (2-4 overall) the non-league victory over Lopez Island (1-2 overall).
