GRANITE FALLS — An 18-year-old Granite Falls woman was jailed Saturday after police found a pipe bomb in her car.
The bomb squad was called to the 200 block of Portage Avenue in Granite Falls. They used a robot to place the device near a tree, where it was safely detonated, according to a police report.
The woman had been stopped by police just before 2 a.m. when they learned she was driving with a suspended license, the report said. Officers found the bomb during a search of her car, the report said.
The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of possession of an explosive device. She has since been released.
