Sifferman and Harris

Teresa Sifferman of Edmonds and Michael Harris of Seattle were married Aug. 10 in Snohomish.

Their parents are Tom and Bette Sifferman of Seattle, and John and Glydie Nelson of Sun City, Ariz.

When Michael and Teresa met it in January it was love at first sight. The couple were engaged six weeks later and married eight months later at the Belle Chapel in Snohomish.

More than 125 guests, including close family and friends, attended the ceremony. A garden reception with live jazz music followed.

Michael and Teresa took a honeymoon trip to the Oregon Coast with their three children.

Michael works for the city of Mill Creek. Teresa is a Realtor.

The couple will live in Snohomish County will their family.

Harris

Don and Bonnie Harris of Monroe will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday Oct. 19 at the Best Western in Monroe.

The couple were married Oct. 17, 1948, in Lewiston, Idaho.

Don had lived in Craigmont, Idaho. Bonnie in Bellevue. They had never met.

It was a former boyfriend of Bonnie’s who gave Don her address. The two guys were in the Army together at Fort Lewis, Texas.

Don and Bonnie wrote to each other for two years while he was stationed at Fort Lewis and then when he went to Korea.

After Don left the service Bonnie traveled to Idaho to meet him. He asked her to marry him six weeks later.

The couple lived in Craigmont until 1957 then moved with their family to Bellevue. In 1967 they moved to Monroe.

Don and Bonnie have three children, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Two great-grandchildren are deceased.
