Mill Creek senior center meeting

A senior center advisory group will meet Monday to discuss developing a senior center for the Mill Creek area.

The advisory group is made up of three Mill Creek councilmembers, two Senior Center Foundation board members and two others.

The meeting is planned for 7:30 p.m. at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St., Mill Creek.

Domestic violence awareness month

The Mountlake Terrace City Council proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This year, there have been more than 300 calls for service regarding domestic violence in Mountlake Terrace.

Senior center gala planned in Monroe

The East County Senior Center offers a 2008 fundraising auction and gala at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Echo Falls Golf Country Club, 20414 121st Ave. SE, Snohomish, south of Monroe. Tickets are $60 per person and include dinner.

Scholarship drive at Husky game

A “Leave a Legacy Scholarship Drive” is planned at the University of Washington football game Saturday.

Sponsored by the University of Washington Alumnae Board, donations will be collected at several locations around Husky Stadium.

Recipients of the scholarships are selected on the basis of scholastic achievements, leadership, work ethic, community service and need.
