PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP: Osborn scores twice to lift Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens’ Sandra Osborn scored two goals to lead the Vikings to a 3-0 Wesco North victory over the Monroe Bearcats Tuesday.
“They were ahead of us in the standings, we were really hoping to play well and put our best foot forward,” Lake Stevens coach Andy Knutson said. “We were really hoping to play well and get a good result.”
Osborn scored her first goal in the 24th minute (Annie Thomas assist), and scored her second goal in the 50th minute (Kinslee Isaman). Cici Carter (Breonna Countryman) added a goal for the Vikings in the the 69th minute.
“Sandra has kind of made a move from defense to offense this year,” Knutson said.
Osborn might have scored the second goal, but Knutson said Isaman deserves a lot of the credit.
“Kinslee did a lot of the work, she set Sandra up beautifully,” Knutson said.
Sierra Hobday played goalkeeper for Lake Stevens (4-1-0 league, 4-1-0 overall). Dani Philippart was in goal for Monroe (2-1-1, 2-1-1).
Snohomish 3, Arlington 2: At Arlington, Morgan Green and Grace Nelson each scored off Lauren Johnson assists, and Courtney Johnson scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal off a Nelson assist in the 36th minute to lead Snohomish (2-2 in league and overall) to the Wesco North win. Jessica Van Loo scored both goals for Arlington (2-3, 2-3) with the second one coming on a penalty kick two minutes into stoppage time. Ashley Holten (Snohomish) and Chelsea Boulton (Arlington) were the goalkeepers.
Stanwood 2, Cascade 0: At Everett, junior Brandi Doggett scored both of Stanwood’s goals to lead the Spartans to victory in the Wesco North contest. Hailey Storbeck and Kamaile Loera recorded assists on Doggett’s goals while Haley Haugstad handled the goal for Stanwood (2-2 in league and overall). Whitney Hawthorne and Aimee Bergman split goalkeeper responsibilities for Cascade (0-4-1).
Everett 5, Oak Harbor 0: At Oak Harbor, Tessa Fox and Annie Sittauer each scored two goals and had an assist and Kylie Beeson added another as Everett remained undefeated at 4-0 with the Wesco North win. Cherise Shaver, Sele Vance and Hannah Hawkins also had assists for Everett. Katie Johnson earned the shutout for Everett, and Maggie Gorman was in goal for Oak Harbor (0-5).
Glacier Peak 8, Mariner 0: At Snohomish, Sam Long scored Glacier Peak’s first two goals two minutes apart off Meaghan Slighter and Brooke Gilbert assists, and the Grizzlies cruised to the non-conference win, improving to 4-1. Malloy Leahy (Sarah Desautels assist), Louisa Pendergast (Stephenie Cummings assist), Slighter (unassisted), Leahy (Gilbert assist), Natalie Johnston (unassisted) and Alex Carlson (unassisted) added goals for Glacier Peak. Goalies Nicole Giovine and Bailey Anderson combined for the shutout against Mariner (0-5).
Shorewood 0, Shorecrest 0 : At Shoreline, Shorewood had 15 shots on goal, including one off the crossbar in the first half, and the Thunderbirds held Shorecrest to three shots on goal in the non-conference battle. Madison Hollenbeck earned the shutout for Shorewood (1-3-1), and Kayla Orbrycki and Chelsey Doyle were in goal for Shorecrest (2-1-2).
Meadowdale 4, Mountlake Terrace 0: At Mountlake Terrace, Maddi Null put Meadowdale up early with a goal in the fifth minute. Julia Fjortoft scored two goals (one off a Marcail McDonald assist). And Alisa Sagdahl (Kari Beaulieu assist) added a goal late to lead Meadowdale to the non-conference win. Julia Grossenbacher (three ssaves) took care of the goal for the Mavericks (3-1-1 overall) while Takara Mitsui had goalkeeper duties for Mountlake Terrace (0-4-1).
Jackson 1, Kamiak 1: At Mukilteo, Lori DeLand headed a corner kick from Brianna Ellis into the near post with 30 seconds remaining to tie the non-league game for Jackson. Kamiak’s Hillary Hermes scored in the 23rd min (Shelby Knowles assist) for the early lead. Tana Foster was goalie for Kamiak (2-1-2), and Jackson’s Kayla Beer and K.C. Wilson played goalie for Jackson (4-0-1).
King’s 1, Cedarcrest 0: At Shoreline, Hillary Zevenbergen (assist Taylor Hauck) scored the games’ only goal in the 79th minute to lead King’s to the Cascade Conference win. Maddy McDevitt played goalkeeper for King’s (2-1 league, 3-1 overall), Kori Butterfield was in goal for Cedarcrest (2-1, 3-1).
Lakewood 3, Granite Falls 2 (OT): At Marysville, Abby Burke’s goal in the 83rd minute (Alisha Stott assist) gave Lakewood (3-0 league, 5-0 overall) the overtime victory in Cascade Conference action. Stott (Kelsey Anderson) scored in the 14th minute and Danielle Knapp (Erin Dierickx) in the 54th minute to account for Lakewood’s two other goals. Kaitlan Howell scored in the 17th minute and Katyann Powers (Katie Cashman) scored in the 34th minute for Granite Falls (1-2, 3-2). Miranda Head was the goalkeeper for Lakewood, as was Kelsey Carlson for Granite Falls.
Archbishop Murphy 11, Coupeville 0: At Everett, Caroline Brawner and Sam Pettinger had hat tricks for Archbishop Murphy in the Cascade Conference victory. Brawner’s goals came in the first minute (Sam Pettinger assist), sixth minute and 26th minute (Kelly Gould). Pettinger scored in the 14th minute (Brawner), 22nd minute (Brawner) and 42nd minute (Kortney Yant). Tasha Pabisz had two goals for the Wildcats, the first in the 57th minute and the second in the 67th minute (Yant). Gould scored in the 11th minute (Lindsey Bos), Maddy Huggins had a goal in the 28th minute and Chole LaMarre (Yant) scored in the 72nd minute. Alexa Hughes played goalkeeper for the Wildcats (3-0 league, 4-0), as did Jordan Akins for Coupeville (0-3, 2-3).
South Whidbey 10, Sultan 0: At Langley, Paige Miller had four goals, Anna Lennon and Laurie Robinson each had two goals, and Megan Larmore and Lindsey Grimm each had a goal for South Whidbey’s (1-2 in league, 2-3 overall) Cascade Conference win. Natasha Camps and Grimm earned the shutout for Falcons. Sultan is now 0-2, 0-4.

Mount Vernon Christian 5, Grace Academy 2: At Mt. Vernon, Daniel Houtsma put Mount Vernon Christian up early with a goal in the third minute off an assist from Jeffrey McClelland and the Hurricanes continued to score throughout the rest of the non-conference game. Caleb Riley scored two goals, Stefan Berryman scored once and McClelland added a goal later in the game to seal the victory for Mt. Vernon Christian. The Hurricanes’ (3-0 overall) goalkeeper was Caleb Brown. Garrett Weinberg stood in goal for Grace Academy (0-4), which had goals by Nathaniel Lugg and Enrique Kramer.
