An Everett man who worked at a casino was jailed Thursday on charges he ran an illegal book-making scheme.

The man allegedly ran the scheme from a poker table at the Club Casino on SE Everett Mall Way, according to a search warrant affidavit filed by a special investigator from the state Gambling Commission.

Undercover agents watched as the man fielded phone calls and talked to customers about professional football games.

Bookmaking is illegal in Washington.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree professional gambling, transmitting or receiving gambling information, and possession of gambling records. He was released on bond.
