The Wiggles bring circus to Everett

In August, Ringling Bros. and Barnum &Bailey’s “Funundrum” filled Comcast Arena with acrobats and animals.

This time, it’s the circus Wiggles-style, as Australia’s popular performers return to the arena for two shows at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday*

The group last visited Everett in July 2009.

Catch the whole cast, including Anthony, Murray, Jeff, Sam, Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and the Wiggly Dancers.

“The ‘Wiggly Circus Live’ will have lots of things going on at the same time,” performer Jeff Fatt said in a phone interview from Australia.

For instance, he explained, a group of gymnasts will join the cast; props including a mini-trapeze will be used and feats such as forming pyramids are planned.

A circus-themed show is “something we’ve thought of doing over the past few years,” he said. “Circuses are something children and parents can relate to because (circuses have) been around forever.”

The current tour involves 21 cities in the U.S. and Canada, with Everett being the first city on the schedule.

Tickets for “The Wiggly Circus Live” run $11 to $76 and are on sale at www.comcastarenaeverett.com and by calling 866-332-8499.
