Decibel Festival: Star Slinger

Published 12:46 pm Friday, October 7, 2011

Last Friday night Star Slinger played his first show ever in the United States and he played it in Seattle. Though, judging by the room full of people there to see him at the sold out Crocodile you would think he had been through town several times building up an insane fan base. The place was packed and even though Beat Connection had just put on a great show in front of a home crowd, the buzz in room just before Star Slinger took the stage made it pretty clear who most people where there to see.

I’ll be the first to admit that DJ sets don’t tend to be my favorite shows. I enjoy watching a band come together to create something when I go to a show. That didn’t stop me from dancing poorly throughout his whole set because other than one minor hitch when the audio completely cut out for about a minute Star Slinger assembled hit packed dance party from start to finish.

Like I said, the place was packed so I couldn’t get anywhere near the stage to get a decent photo and the volume was so high during his set that the audio in the video below is a little rough. Give it a look anyway to get an idea of how the show was.
