Gun found in middle school student’s backpack

SEATTLE — An unloaded gun has been found in the backpack of a Seattle middle school student.

KING TV reports that the 13-year-old boy was taken into police custody.

The station says officials at Aki Kurose Middle School say a student came forward Wednesday and told a teacher that he heard a rumor that a student had a gun in his backpack.

The staff found that an 8th-grader did have a gun.
