Justin Brown
Lake Stevens | Baseball
Brown batted 4-for-4 in Saturday’s 6-5 extra-inning victory over Jackson in the first round of the 4A District 1 Tournament. Brown’s walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Lake Stevens the win and ended the Timberwolves’ season. The Vikings advanced to the district championship on Monday with a 1-0 win over Mount Vernon.
Kaylei Werner
Jackson | Softball
Werner batted 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in Friday’s 9-8 victory over Lake Stevens. With the win, the Timberwolves took sole possession of second place in the competitive Wesco 4A and set up a showdown with first-place Snohomish in a game that could decide the eventual league champion.
Anton Resing
Shorecrest | Boys Soccer
Resing scored all three of the Scots’ goals in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Anacortes in the first round of the 2A District 1 tournament. Resing helped the Scots earn a spot in Tuesday’s semifinal against undefeated Archbishop Murphy.
Taryn Smith
Stanwood | Girls Tennis
Smith, the No. 2 singles player for the Spartans, won her match over Everett’s Gwyn Anderson 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 on Thursday. Smith’s three-set victory gave Stanwood a 4-3 win over Everett and kept the Spartans unbeaten in league play.

King’s | Boys Track
Ayers won the 1,600 and 800 meters and helped the Knights win the 4×400 relay in Saturday’s Cascade Conference championships.
Wurrie Njadoe
Shorecrest | Girls Track
Njadoe won the 100 meters along with the high jump and long jump in Thursday’s meet at Shoreline Stadium against Shorewood, Mariner and Kamiak.
Drew Gradwohl
Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Golf
Gradwohl shot a two-under 68 to earn medalist honors last Wednesday against Meadowdale and Shorecrest at Jackson Park Golf Course.
Morgan Rood
Meadowdale | Girls Golf
Rood shot a six-over 39 to earn medalist honors against Mountlake Terrace last Tuesday.
Steele Fosth
Kamiak | Boys Lacrosse
Fosth scored four goals and had two assists in Friday’s 13-6 win over Stanwood. Fosth’s performance helped Kamiak clinch the No. 2 seed from the Wesco/Northwest Division and earn a spot in the state tournament, which begins on May 19.
Hannah Graves
Snohomish | Girls Lacrosse
Graves scored four goals, including the go-ahead goal with 10 seconds to go in regulation to lead Snohomish to the 9-8 win over Mercer Island on Friday. The win earned Snohomish a spot in the state quarterfinals where it played Bellarmine Prep on Monday.
