Sing: Caroling brings cheer to Sultan streets

Everybody is invited to spread cheer and holiday spirit with the annual Sultan Community Christmas Caroling event, 4-8 p.m. Dec. 20. The more the merrier.

Carolers should meet at First Baptist Church, 315 Eighth St. Then head out for singing to unsuspecting (or eagerly waiting) neighbors.

Occupy: Activities for kids over winter break

Kids looking for something to do over winter break can find hands-on fun at Sno-Isle Libraries’ Winter Science Extravaganza programs. Geared at ages 5 and up.

Volts &Jolts: Explore the properties of electricity with a hair-raising Van de Graaf Generator and Tesla Coil. Presented by the Pacific Science Center.

Geek out: OrcaCon coming to Everett

OrcaCon 2016 is a new game and geek convention, set for Jan. 8-10 at the Downtown Everett Holiday Inn, 3105 Pine St. It’s organized by a group of seasoned Snohomish County geeks and gamers.

The convention will serve as a hub for all role-playing games, card and board games, and miniatures wargames. There will be scheduled games, open game areas, tournaments, and plenty of free demonstrations, along with panel discussions, trivia, Fan Table Alley and vendors. The event aims to be family friendly.

Membership is $55 until Dec. 26 and $65 at the door. Child memberships (ages 6-12) are $45. Children under age 5 are free but still require a badge along with the rest of their family.

The vendors hall is open to the public and does not require a pass.
